Snow day!

We had a couple of inches of snow today and Bryn has been home in her jammies all day. I would have been in my jammies, too if it weren't for my appointment this morning. I saw the perinatologist and she started me on a lose dose of meds at bedtime to try to regulate the ketones in my urine. My sugars are still pretty good and she told me she was going to skip the scare tactics with me as I seemed to be a compliant patient. I told her the nurse had already done that! She also is not a big fan of insulin so I don't think she'll send me there unless things get dramatically worse! Hooray! Now we'll see how my appt and ultrasound go tomorrow - I feel like I am getting to be really good friends with the office and hospital staff after all of these appointments!

I am STILL trying to get the house in order. I finally got the Christmas decorations down last night. Pretty sad, huh? I have bookclub here this Saturday and a friend coming to spend the night on Sunday, so it is my normal "company is coming" cleaning plan! I actually got the name of a housecleaner from a friend - I have always wanted someone to come clean a couple of times a month. Hard to justify the money, but I think I would give up groceries if someone else would scrub my toilets!

Wow...I can't believe they would cancel school over a few inches of snow. It's certainly not like snow is unheard of your neck of the woods.

Glad to hear all went well at the perinatologist's! I know the diet sucks, but it is worth sticking to, huh? Do you miss fruit? Oh, how I craved fruit! Anyway, I hope your ultrasound goes well, too! I know what you mean about the office staff. You know I was put on bed rest at 24 weeks with Maxidoodle, but I always thought how silly that seemed as they had me coming into the office at least twice a week for stress tests and a concurrent weekly BPP), plus I had to go to the perinatologist about once every other week. So it was a strict "stay in bed, but get up and come to the office every other day". I do hope everyone at the office is at least pleasant and friendly!

I have always thought that if "they" can make a self-cleaning oven, why not a self-cleaning house. I have a terminal case of CHAOS here--Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome--and welcome the very occasional entertaining that motivates me to clean up the hovel.

I hope things continue to stay as under control as possible with the pregnancy. Your stories, and Debi's, make me so very thankful that both of my pregnancies were boringly uneventful except for the bouncing baby boy at the end.

I'm glad to hear you are doing well, and the appointments are helpful. Good for you for being a good patient. *grin*
I'm with you on the housecleaner. I'd love it, but cannot justify it. Maybe someday...Nah. By the time we can afford it the kids will be out of the house, and then no one will be making messes. LOL

We missed the snow that got part of the south this weekend, darn!
I hope you're feeling better and that everything is going good with your pregnancy.
I'm still trying to get my house back in order too, but have to by Friday when hubby has a meeting here!
